Herringbone Kitchen Floor in Eagle
A 480 sq ft large-format porcelain herringbone laid across a Foothills custom kitchen, with hand-cut transitions to original white oak.
The work
The original tile was 6-inch ceramic on an uneven slab. We tore it out, self-leveled to a true 1/8-inch tolerance, installed a full Schluter Ditra uncoupling layer, and dry-laid the entire herringbone pattern before a single tile was set. Cuts at the island, range, and dining transition were hand-mitered. Grout was matched to the lightest tone in the tile to let the pattern breathe.
